Hello Friend!
We often gripe about not being loved as we deserve (or not.) We moan about people treating us badly and we groan about how difficult it is to love others. But how often or when last have you checked yourself?
How well are you loving yourself and others?
By what standard, you might wonder. After all, don’t we all have our own idea of what love is and how to do it?
Well, therein lies the rub. It’s not our opinion that matters on this universal subject of love.
If we honored the standard provided and just went about doing what we know is right – putting all opinions aside, (yes, I know that is not easy! ) we would stop moaning, groaning and griping and we’d get busy loving.
Here’s the standard I suggest: 1 Corinthians 13. I will quote 3 specific verses here; verses 4 to 6 give us EXACTLY what love is and what to do to have (be) love.
4 Love suffers long PATIENCE
And is kind; KINDNESS
Love does not envy; GENEROSITY
Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; HUMILITY
5 Does not behave rudely, COURTESY
Does not seek its own, UNSELFISHNESS
Is not provoked, it keeps no record of wrongs GOOD TEMPER
Thinks no evil; GUILELESSNESS
6 Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; SINCERITY
There it is, 9 ways to be or ‘habits that help’; these help you to become your most loving self and, they help the world we share to exist at a higher level of love frequency.
Do a Self-Evaluation: On a scale of 1 – 10 how patient are you…with yourself, loved ones and not-so-loved ones? How kind are you?
Ask yourself how patient, kind, generous, humble. Courteous, unselfish, good-tempered, guileless and sincere you are, record those ratings in your journal…btw, how about getting a special journal for your “love development?”
Record those ratings along with your explanations and intentions, and then increase your ‘love quotient’ by simply practicing being more patient, kind, generous, humble, etc. Since perfection is not a place it’s a journey, I know you have room for improvement.
Develop these 9 habits and you will have the most spectacular love life! And I surely don’t mean that in the purely romantic sense. Life will open its loving arms for you if first you give what is already in your heart; love, pure love.
Give what you would like to receive; sow what you wish to reap.
Nothing but Love!
Wishing you the most loving life you can handle!
With Love,
