Why “Detoxify” or “Detox”?
Here’s my thinking; people who experience on and off success, roller-coaster productivity or, who are simply not at their highest and best ON A CONSISTENT BASIS are generally suffering from ‘ISIS’ which is ‘inconsistent self-image syndrome.’ Under otherwise normal conditions, ISIS is at the root of all failure to achieve goals and intentions.
Here’s why: if you set a goal to achieve something – let’s say, wake up at 5 the next 7 mornings, and you get yourself all prepared and excited about it yet you continue to have images of you sleeping late, going to bed late and so forth, chances are you will not achieve this goal. It’s not merely the fact of having these thoughts and images running through your mind…it’s what is buried beneath these thoughts and the powerful impact that all has on your behavior that really matters. If you continue to see yourself in your mind – your thoughts, memories, emotions and words, as a late sleeper, you will continue to behave that way. Labeling yourself as a “late sleeper” does further damage to the desired self-image. Labels are so very powerful.
How you see yourself is how you will behave. This translates to you finding ways to sabotage yourself – drinking or eating stimulants close to bedtime, taking a late call, getting “down” and needing to nuzzle the pillow a little bit more and even finding “good” reasons to be up late – like helping someone out. We can be so creative with sub-conscious personal sabotage!
We generally cannot out behave our thoughts and self-image. Much has been said, written and researched about this subject. We are our thoughts.
Now, in order to build a powerful and positive self-image and successfully replace a faulty (inconsistently positive) self-image with one that works for you, detoxifying is essential. There are faulty thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behavior patterns that eat away at your healthy self-image. ISIS is pervasive and intent on sabotage.
If negative thoughts/emotions pop into existence regularly, taking you on a little side-trip for varying lengths of time, you need to detox.
Physically, if you have not taken stock of foods you regularly eat or made any attempt to improve your diet recently, you probably need to detox.
If you don’t have a consistent routine designed to keep you elevated and positive, this 21-day detox is the answer.
Gaining control of your self-image is necessary and it requires a whole – mind, body and spirit – approach.
