[ Day 14 of our 21-Day Kindness Adventure – see previous messages here]
Hi there!
Today is the 14th day of our 21 day adventure with kindness and we’re moving into the final venue…community. Here is where we impact strangers in a second, work on projects that change lives forever and really walk the talk of being kind.
How can you spread kindness in our world today?
The community venue includes all volunteer work, ministry work, random exchanges with strangers, all transactions with business, place of worship, social and community organizations.
EVERYTHING outside of your home, work, special relationships and self is in the community venue.
So think of ways you can be kind in this venue and do as many acts of kindness over the next several days as you can squeeze in.
In addition to personal acts of kindness, how can you get groups of people involved in kindness? Any groups, teams, committees, boards, etc that you may be connected to can be pulled into this adventure.
Let us know the exciting results.
Here’s a list of some suggestions: [from a variety of sources, programs and people – all for MAGNIFICENT impact! :-)]
♥ Clean up litter on your block
♥ Send a thank you note to a person or business helping the world – get some young folks together and have them write notes too
♥ Make and post signs with tips to reduce water use
♥ Go to the nearest park and clean up as much as you can – get a group of young people to help
♥ Call an animal shelter and donate at least one item they need or donate a few hours of animal care time – like dog-walking
♥ Give an eco-friendly gift to a neighbor
♥ Plant a fruit tree where it will thrive – get a group of young people to help
♥ Cook a meal with locally grown, organic ingredients for your family and friends
♥ Hide spare change where a stranger will find it within the hour
♥ Tell a public service employee how much you appreciate what they do and if they were particularly helpful, tell their manager
♥ Hold the door for strangers at a public building for 5 minutes
♥ Strike up a conversation with someone who looks like they need a friend
♥ Pay for the person behind you in line – at tollbooth, at fast food restaurant or grocery store
♥ Acknowledge an act of kindness by someone else and thank them
♥ Donate your favorite book to the nearest library with a note inside on why you love it!
♥ Strike up a conversation with an elderly person.
♥ Knock on 10 doors and give them a flower or balloon
♥ Create 5 cards with positive messages and leave them in a coffee shop or bookstore cafe for someone to discover
♥ Pick someone unknown around you, make them smile at any cost
♥ Hug the first 5 people you see [umm…with their permission!]
Have FUN with this folks…it’s a venue we can get so creative with and it’s also where the contagious nature of kindness gets to have a huge and lasting impact. This is the venue for some serious fun 🙂
Don’t forget to read your love-note to yourself and do your spontaneous daily and random act of kindness.
Wishing you an abundance of joy, peace and light,
♥~
