Today (5/16) on Facebook we begin a free 21 day series — 21 Days of Action, Accountability and Extreme Achievement – and as always, we will begin with some PLANNING. If you’d like to join the event on Facebook, do so here.
You can also subscribe to my RSS feed and receive the daily updates on this 21-day series; you can do that here at JuletteMillien.com.
This program is specifically for those folks who would like to pump up their creativity, accountability and productivity. If you have some 2011 goals that are gathering dust or are just not getting the quality of attention they need in order to be achieved, then this 21-day series is your answer.
The details of the program:
Our actual Day 1 will be Thursday May 19th. Between now and then here’s what we will do to prepare ourselves for the most productive 21 days of 2011.
First of all, as those of you who have traveled this path with us before already know, we believe in organization! Order and organization is the first spiritual and physical principle in the universe. Without it we have chaos and no way of controlling and leveraging our progress. Accountability is the next important “detail” of all our programs; without it you have no real way of getting your highest and best output – with your goals and with life in general.
First. to be organized:
Dedicate a journal – preferably an old-fashioned, ‘write in it’ kind of book, but if you must, an electronic document will suffice. J
In this journal you will record your specific goals for the 21 days, your plan of action, your daily actions and accountability as well as your feelings about it all. You will treasure this book if you are honest and open with your entries.
Throughout the journey I will suggest activities and exercise and this journal will be an excellent place to record it all.
This will be the home for all your wonderful insights and aha moments. You will be thrilled to see your progress and by reviewing your insights during and after the journey, you will be inspired with even more insights.
Then… accountability:
We also insist on a serious dose of accountability in these 21 day programs. Here’s what I suggest; get an accountability partner and commit to an agreed schedule of connecting – by messaging, skype, phone…whatever works for the two of you. Ideally, it’s best to check in at a designated time at least once per week with each person responsible for initiating the contact when it is their turn to report in – this would mean connecting twice per week. Of course both of you can check in on the same call or message; the responsibility for making contact should be established ahead of time….and it should be shared.
Here’s the power of accountability: You get to articulate clearly what your intentions are then be held responsible for taking the specific actions you committed to. You get more done and you get to feel really great about that!
One of the main reasons we fail to get more done in our life is the decision we make to NOT share with a coach or accountability partner exactly what we intend to get accomplished. If we don’t say it, we have a sense of not really being responsible for it.
Of course the first level of accountability is being accountable to your self. Say it out loud, write it down and let your word be your bond. Here is where we build our muscle of integrity; by saying what we mean and meaning what we say.
So I encourage you to put it out there – say exactly what you would like to be held accountable for, hold yourself accountable and then permit your partner to hold you responsible. Agree ahead of time to the consequences and rewards for taking or not taking the intended actions.
Your first 3 exercises/suggested activities:
1) Decide what your specific goal will be for this 21-day series. What would you like to accomplish over the next 21 days? If you’re thinking a general thought like “feel better about myself” or “get my house/office/room under control” or “be more productive (write more, do more, make more sales, etc, etc)” you have to go deeper. You can write the general thought/dream/wish/intention in your journal but it is not yet a goal you can work with.
Based on the general goals stated above, here’re some suggestions – just to guide your thinking. 1) To feel better about myself in 21 days, I will do 3 things: Read something inspiring daily for at least 15 minutes, affirm my gratitude and love for my self daily by speaking out my affirmations and posting encouraging quotes and affirmations all around, and I will write a to-do list daily and get my priority items done first each day. 2) To get my space in order, I will first devote 15 minutes a day to organizing a section of one room at a time. I will also write what I believe the underlying issues might be with my lack of order and finally, I will write a plan for creating the desired order. 3) To be more productive, I will first make an assessment of my present level of productivity, and then I will decide exactly how many more hours, pages, revenue, etc, I will accomplish on a daily basis over the 21-day period.
Hopefully these examples illustrate the direction your thinking should take in order to get to a more specific goal (s).
2) Write a benefit statement – Why/how would achieving this goal bring value to your life? Be very specific. Think whole picture; how will achieving this goal bring value to all aspects of your life – Five Vital Venues, self, home, work/business/school , relationships and community/Place of Worship (POW).
3) Secure your accountability partner and create a schedule of interaction.
Today, Tuesday and Wednesday are dedicated to preparing our selves for this journey. Just as you would prepare for a trip, gathering the things you must take for comfort, safety and fun, to ensure the best results from this 21-day journey, you must gather your tools and set your systems in place.
We’ll take look at some other areas of preparation tomorrow. Think imagination, relaxation and resources… 🙂
Wishing you a magnificent day of peace, joy and all success,
♥~
First Message: Sent to Facebook participants on Sunday May 15th
Hi there brave ones, 🙂
Our actual day 1 will be this coming Thursday (5/19) and I’ll be in touch tomorrow with some pre-work – preparation – for our journey.
Until then think of the specific goals or goals you’d like to accomplish over the 21-day period.
Think also about your action plan and who will be your accountability partner.
If you’re looking for a partner within the program — leave a note at the event wall.
I’m *so excited* to be your guide on this journey – it will be spectacular IF you play full out and bring your highest level of enthusiasm and commitment.
Over the next few days surround yourself with optimistic people, thoughts, books, music and activities and get ready for your highest and best output in 2011! 🙂
Wishing you abundant success, peace and joy,
♥~
Hello All,
I am using a journal that I started one year ago when I was at my “bottom”. I opened an old beautiful journal and started to write. Using some quotes from the bible and some quotes from writer Debbie Macomber; I knew there was hope for me, even if I was going to start over at age 59.
Here is the bible quote that helped me:
Isaiah 41:10 (English Standard Version)
fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with(A) my righteous right hand.
I went on to become a Real Estate Agent and I’m now in the midst of writing a book. I look forward to this workshop to help me with my specific goal for the next 21 days!
(I intend to continue writing in the same journal!).
Hi there — was a lovely and inspiring message to read! Thank you so much for sharing it. Oh boy do I understand about using ‘beautiful journals’ and being inspired by scripture. Today Psalm 46:10 was my scripture as I meditated (Be still and know that I am God.)
Congratulations to you on thriving through the challenges! It’s great to have you on board this 21-day journey.
Warm regards, julette
