Hello Dear One!
This morning I asked myself, almost as I woke – which made me wonder what I dreamt about – “What is really at the core of the problems we face today?” Perhaps the question was too broad so my mind went in many different directions. With no immediate answer I proceeded on with my morning process and as I began my ‘morning stillness’ this question hovered like a butterfly looking for a landing.
I allowed it to rest lightly on my mind and continued on my path to stillness. My next series of sensations and images, on reflection afterwards, were apparently the answer to my question.
In my stillness, I felt such deep peace, gratitude, elation and wholeness and there were smiles of every kind; people, nature, animals, angels and more, barely visible were forming a chorus of love in my soul.
The answer to the question “What is really at the core of the problems we face today?” is love, of course. But, it’s at the core of the answer, not the question I challenged.
True. It’s both.
Here’s how: It’s a lack of self-love and hence, confidence that blocks the realization that the fate of the (our) world is in our (MY hands, YOUR hands) hands. This lack is at the core, I believe, of our troubles personally and on the world stage.
If we deeply loved each other – possible only after a healthy dose of self-love, and if we had the courage and confidence to accept that as an individual WE CAN CHANGE, not just our little world but the entire world, we would care about and take actions in support of issues in our community and around the world.
If we are not loving our self, how could we be expected to love the world – especially a world we can’t even see as relevant to our immediate little circle? People who do not love themselves unfortunately become part of the problem, not the solution. They carry their lack of wholeness into the world and in many cases, create havoc where they work and interact with others.
It’s an unloving heart that makes unloving policies. Broken relationships, poor parenting, unforgiving friends, angry civil servants, and cold teachers…all spring from an unhealed, unloving heart
Today I pray for each of us to tap into our source of real power – Love – for self and for others all over the globe.
Wishing you an abundance of Joy, Peace & Love,
Julette Millien
