Dear one,
This picture and quote above caught my attention on Facebook today. It is of course true…our magnificence has nothing to do with our weight or bank account. But yet, though I would venture to say most of us know this, we continue to pine after the things to do with riches, material success and vanity.
Yes, I know losing 10 pounds for many is nothing to do with vanity…it’s about health: Kudos to you who are on a mission to be healthy. For many, the journey is about vanity and about not feeling like you are enough. And I know adding money to the bank account for many is about survival…but, beyond what is needed, there is still a tendency to need more and more.
There is this constant hunger for more or in the case of weight for less. This is what I believe…that drive and hunger often comes from a place of lack.
A recent post of mine on Facebook spoke to this place of lack:
“My goodness…so grateful for the aging process. I once craved opulence and more wealth than I can imagine. Now I realize that was the need of an unhealed and not whole little girl…trying to fill the void with “stuff.” Today I seek increased wealth because I have work to do, gifts to give, service to render…and yes, I certainly enjoy the comforts and fruits of my labor. After all, we are here to live and give abundantly…from a healed and whole heart. ~♥~”
So as far as “how rich is rich enough” it really is about where the desire is coming from. The sky’s the limit I say, when you seek what you seek in the service of love/others and when that passion comes from a healed and whole heart – or at least on the path to wholeness.
If instead, you are in pain or feeling incomplete and not magnificent or even good enough, I say slow the race for wealth and other achievements down and focus on your healing and, on realizing how lovable and wonderful you are right now.
As Gail Lynne Goodwin (of InspireMeToday.com) states above, you ALREADY are MAGNIFICENT…and nothing from the material world will add to your magnificence.
When we are “feeling” like something is missing or we are not enough, we create needs and set goals that are designed to “complete us.” There is no completion required…this is the thing I missed for so long and many people die not getting.
Love who you are in this very moment, if you wish to experience true and lasting peace. It’s this moment of acceptance that will empower you to accomplish your goals for tomorrow. This moment filled with love, gratitude and acceptance is where your personal power resides.
And…if you are a person who believes in God as I do, KNOW that first and foremost God loves you JUST AS YOU ARE. Accept that and you will “need” less and less from the world.
Wishing for you an abundance of peace, love and joy,
~♥~
