Hello!
This message is part of planning and preparing for the 21-Day Detox Challenge ~ Spirit, Mind & Body. {If you are not doing this challenge at this time, I suggest you bookmark this series for when you are ready.}
All previous messages can be found here. The video introduction is here. You can still join – we begin the 21-day journey on December 8th. (The last series was in October 2010.)
For those of you doing this challenge for the first time, please do the following.
If you did this challenge in October and you’d like to kick it up a notch please review your notes and revelations from the first round and also do the highlighted sections below.
Continuing with the planning and preparing phase of our journey the following action steps are essential:
1) Continue your food log and this time take a closer look at your food labels and begin to think about which food item you will be doing without during our detox.
A toxic food or ingredient is one that harms your body/organs– immediately or over time. Based on the particular details of our biology (high cholesterol for instance) a food that is not toxic for other people might be ‘toxic’ for you. So think about this decision carefully. Do a little research if needed. Easy choices are foods that are treated with chemicals, filled with saturated fat, empty calories or carbs that convert to sugars quickly…spiking the sugars in your blood stream and then creating sudden drops in energy when the sugar “high” is over. Those are easier choices but you may have a particular food item in your diet that causes specific issues with your body, so pick this item wisely.
Consider as well how much water you are drinking daily and decide how much more you will be drinking. Remaining hydrated is essential for optimum energy and vitality.
This time around eliminate 2 toxic food items (or not optimally good for you) from your daily/weekly diet. Review your food labels today with this in mind.
Also, with your doctor’s permission choose one day per week for the next 3 weeks and fast from solid food, drinking only natural juices and water.
2) Go deeper with the review of your negative thoughts. Playing the “why” game just keep asking your self “why?”
Why are you thinking that thought? When you have an answer, ask why to that…keep going until you get to an answer that sheds light on the emotional foundation of your recurring script.
Underlying beliefs are much more dangerous when they remain invisible. We can adjust something we can see and acknowledge. But changing beliefs and emotional baggage in the dark is practically impossible. Take note of when these thoughts pop up…sometimes powerful triggers in our environment, our diet, our conversations can remain unknown. This aspect of our thoughts and the way they sometimes just pop into existence (it seems) impacting us deeply, is very important. Remaining in a positive and productive state is crucial…if we have any hope of re-structuring our self-image so these sabotaging thoughts are reduced to a minimum we have to become aware, acknowledge them and get a better understanding of where they’re coming from.
Have a conversation today with a young person about the power of negative thoughts…ask them for examples of how they have seen this at work in their life.
Share the ‘why game’ with them.
3) Do your imagination exercise for 5 minutes today…just visualize the details of how fantastic the outcomes of this detox will be for you. Make those details as vibrant and as bold as you can. We underestimate the power of our imagination theatre – the mind. With proper imaginings we can/do create our reality. High performing athletes and other individuals use this tool all the time. We basically operate a success or failure machine (our brain and nervous system) and it’s completely up to us which one will – success or failure – prevail. We feed our brain what it produces. So let’s feed it nothing but high-premium, best quality thoughts and ideas over the next 3 ½ weeks; let’s sow what we would like to reap!
Do a little research on the power of imagination and learn something new today that you never knew before on the subject. Share that information.
Do your imagination exercise for 10 minutes
Finally, determine yourself to have as much fun as you can muster, maintain the excitement about taking on this challenge and spread the joy of focused personal development!
Wishing you a truly magnificent day as you plan and prepare for the best – most joy-filled and productive – days of your year!
Peace & Light,
♥~
