Hello Dear One!
The Oprah 12-day Holiday Give-O-Way – www.oprah.com/12days is going on right now. This is an opportunity for some lucky winners to win all 60 of her Favorite Things this season.
When I received the O Magazine issue and got excited about the possibility of winning all the gifts, I had this immediate burst of light in my head…or heart, can’t tell where the light was, I just know something in me got filled with light.
Here’s my thinking, I really would LOVE to win these 60 gifts…and wanted to win them, even before I saw the picks! I just know her picks are always impressive or at the every least, interesting. But the real reason I wanted them before I saw them is because of the idea that came with this ‘burst of light.’
{I have to admit – sometimes I have a very skeptical reaction and response to what is called “conspicuous consumption” – you know when things are pricey – just because, or when money is wasted on luxuries in such a way that it is downright wasteful. I feel I have to stand against that sort of thing and take a position standing up for good stewardship and responsible consumer spending. I’ve felt this way with some of Oprah’s picks in the past. I didn’t review her list from that perspective this time because I have a bigger plan…see below}
So…since I would really love to win these gifts, I decided what better way to stack my odds than to deserve them, REALLY deserve them and then somehow God and the unlimited abundance of the universe will conspire to have me have them.
So how do I deserve them? It’s simple. I want to do with them what Oprah is doing…give them away. That was my burst of light….give, give, give. I love giving gifts!
Giving beats getting, hands down, anytime! I want to bless as many people as I can with these gorgeous gifts.
Of course I believe I deserve them just because…we all deserve beautiful gifts, just because! But above that, I want to make 48+ people (yes, I do plan to keep 12 of them!) very, very happy. It’s 48+ because some of these gifts are in multiples.
So this is what I did. Btw…I decided on 12 gifts for myself before seeing the gifts because I love the # 12 and Oprah is using it as well (as in 12 days of giving… www.oprah.com/12days ). I went through the magazine pages and had great excitement deciding which gifts would be appreciated by specific loved ones. Their name is being written on it and I may even call them and let them know this gift is selected for them…and it wouldn’t hurt for them to send some positive thoughts this way to increase the likelihood of me winning. Or, they can even enter themselves.
Sounds like a great plan to me.
The more fun I was having with this mental giving extravaganza – the sheer power of the imagination I tell you! – the more I realized I had happened into a simply wonderful approach to life; Nothing new really, just a sweet way to internalize it.
Deserve it BEFORE you receive it.
What do you really want from life right now? Do you deserve it…just “because,” or do you deserve it “because you have gone above and beyond?”
Do you really believe you deserve it? Without that belief – that you deserve it, you cannot become the magnet you need to be, to draw to you whatever it is that you deserve or are seeking. You have to believe, deeply and passionately that you are deserving and capable of receiving that which you seek.
Are you actively involved in planting seeds of the crop you wish to reap? For instance, if you want more love in your life, are you loving others with abandon? If you want to be forgiven, have you forgiven…all?
What you seek, whatever you deserve, whatever you wish to reap, you must first sow.
You know, I thought about this whole thing about not speaking about this plan to ‘win and give’ because it might make it less likely to happen…not jinxing the odds 🙂, but then I realized that the unlimited power of the spiritual laws of the universe far outweighs the superstition of even big fears and little doubts.
I will seek and claim what I believe I deserve with a pure intention to give. If it comes to me, it’s because it’s for me, if it doesn’t it’s because something better is on its way. You can’t get discouraged when something doesn’t happen when and exactly how you would like it to because if you are doing your best to sow and nurture the right seeds, for the right reasons, even if the outcome doesn’t look the way you want it to, it’s still yours to accept. When we accept, we invite gratitude.
With gratitude comes peace and joy, the perfect soil for abundance and creativity.
So I am going to expect to win these lovely gifts and if I don’t, the time is well spent because I would’ve spent several weeks glowing in the light of giving. I tell you it’s no small joy I experienced going through that magazine, assigning gifts to friends and family. That was intensely gratifying !
